Web design for tradespeople

Your website has one job: get the phone to ring. Not win design awards, not impress other web designers. We build sites for roofers, plumbers, electricians, builders and locksmiths that load instantly on a phone and show up when someone nearby needs you.

Four things that decide whether a trades site works

Everything else is decoration. These are the ones that change how often the phone rings.

The number is never more than a tap away

Header, hero, sticky mobile bar, every section, footer. When someone has a leak or they are locked out of a van, they are not filling in a contact form. They are ringing whoever makes it easiest. On mobile it is a tap-to-call link, not text you have to copy.

It loads before they lose patience

Someone searching “emergency roofer near me” clicks the first result that opens. A typical trades site built on WordPress with a heavy theme scores 30 to 60 on PageSpeed and takes five seconds to show anything useful. Ours score 88 to 99. That gap is the difference between the call coming to you or your competitor.

Your work, not stock photos

Nobody was ever convinced by a stock image of a smiling plumber holding a wrench. Before and after shots of an actual roof you stripped and relaid do the persuading instead. Phone photos are fine as long as they are clear and well lit. Take one on every job you are proud of.

Built for trade plus town searches

Almost nobody types “roofing services”. They type “roofer Brighouse” or “emergency electrician HD1”. The site is structured around the specific trades you do and the specific places you cover, with the schema markup and page structure to match, rather than one vague service area page.

Trades we build for

If your trade is not listed, it almost certainly still applies. Ring and ask.

What it costs

Most sole traders and small firms need the £495 Starter: a 1 to 5 page site covering who you are, what you do, where you work, your reviews and a gallery. If you cover several trades or a lot of separate towns, £850 buys 5 to 15 pages with advanced SEO and a CMS you can update yourself.

One-time fee. No monthly retainer, no contract, no hosting lock-in, and you own the code. If you are currently paying someone £50 to £200 a month for a site you do not own, that is roughly what our whole build costs over a single year.

Questions tradespeople actually ask

How much does a website cost for a tradesman?

£495 as a one-time fee for a 1 to 5 page site, which is what most sole traders and small firms need. £850 for 5 to 15 pages if you cover several trades or a lot of separate service areas. From £2,450 for custom builds. There is no monthly retainer on any of them and no contract to sign.

I already get all my work from word of mouth. Do I need a website?

Word of mouth still works, but it now runs through Google. Someone recommends you in a Facebook group, and the next thing that happens is three people search your name. If nothing comes up, or what comes up is a dead Facebook page from 2019, that recommendation quietly evaporates. A website is increasingly where a referral gets confirmed rather than where it gets generated.

How long will it take? I am on the tools all day.

Three to seven days once we have your photos and the basic details. The only thing we genuinely need from you is about half an hour on the phone and a folder of job photos. We write the copy, you check it. Nobody expects you to sit and draft page content between jobs.

Will it work properly on a phone?

It is designed for a phone first and scaled up to desktop afterwards, which is the opposite of how most template sites are built. The overwhelming majority of trades traffic is someone standing in their kitchen looking at a problem, on 4G, in a hurry.

Can you get me to the top of Google for my trade and town?

Nobody honest will promise you a position. What we will tell you is where the leverage actually sits: for a trade plus town search, the map pack sits above the organic results and is driven mostly by your Google Business Profile, not your website. We build the site with the technical SEO done properly, then tell you exactly what to fix on your profile and how to ask for reviews. Anyone guaranteeing you position one for a monthly fee is selling you something else.

What happens if I want to change something later?

Ring us. Small text and photo changes are usually done the same day and we do not bill for them on an ongoing basis. You own the code outright, so if you ever want to take it to someone else, you can, with no permission needed and nothing locked to our platform.
