What the business needed
Darren's roofing business covers Halifax, Brighouse, Sowerby Bridge, Hebden Bridge and Elland: emergency repairs, re-roofs, flat roofing in GRP, EPDM and felt, guttering, fascias and soffits, and chimney repointing and lead work. The emergency call-out is the lead product, so the site had to make ringing Darren the obvious next action on a phone, at any hour.
What was built
A homepage, a gallery, a contact page and four service pages: emergency roof repair, flat roofing, guttering and chimney repairs, each on a shared template with a parameterised hero, page-specific content, an inline quote section and the areas served. A fixed bottom bar on mobile carries Call Now and Free Quote on every page.
Three lead surfaces feed one inbox: a contact form, a three-step quote wizard that asks for the job before it asks for a name, and a chat-style widget that walks through name, phone and job description. The chat widget always confirms the message was sent even if the network request fails, so a customer on a poor connection is never left thinking the enquiry was lost.
The thirteen reviews on the site are Yell reviews quoted with their source labelled. Trust elements, the rating bar, the review carousel and the coverage grid, are shared components rendered once so the numbers cannot differ between pages.
Three routes to a quote
Form, wizard and chat widget all post to the same free form service with a honeypot field. No backend, no database, nothing to pay for monthly.
Sticky call bar on mobile
Call and quote buttons pinned to the bottom of every mobile screen, which is where the thumb already is when the roof is leaking.
RoofingContractor markup
The specific schema.org type rather than a generic business, with coordinates, telephone and a 24-hour opening specification to match the emergency offer.
Getting it found
Titles target the roofing terms with the town: roofers Halifax, emergency roofer Halifax, flat roofing Halifax, chimney repairs. Each service page has its own keyword set. There are no town pages on this build; the five areas are a homepage section, and the site's own sitemap and the years-in-business claim are both marked in the code for verification with Darren before they are extended.
