Website design for roofers
Someone with water coming through the ceiling rings the first roofer whose site opens and whose number they can tap. We have built that site for roofers in Orpington, Halifax and Doncaster, and all three are live for you to check.
From £495, live in 3 to 7 days once the job photos are in.
What a roofing website needs
Four things, each taken from a roofing site we have built rather than from a checklist.
Built around the emergency call
If you take call-outs, that is the lead product and the site should treat it that way. Haigh Roofing pins Call Now and Free Quote to the bottom of every mobile screen, where the thumb already is when the roof is leaking, and its markup states 24-hour opening to match the offer. If you do not answer at 3am, the site should not say you do.
A page for each job, not one for “roofing”
People search for the job: flat roof repair, chimney repointing, new fascias. Diamond Roofing has five service pages, from tile and slate re-roofs to EPDM and GRP flat roofs, roofline and lead work. Each one can rank on its own, and each links to the areas it is done in.
Area pages that earn their place
Diamond Roofing works across the BR, DA, SE and TN postcodes, so it has nine area pages, each naming its town and postcodes. Haigh Roofing covers five towns close together and has none: the areas sit in one homepage section. Which is right depends on how far you travel, and you will hear which before anything is built.
Proof a homeowner can check
Photos of your own jobs, and your rating exactly as it stands. Diamond Roofing shows 4.9 from 33 reviews with three quoted and a link to Google. Haigh Roofing's reviews come from Yell and the site says so. Someone letting a stranger onto their roof reads those before they ring.
Diamond Roofing Contractors
Roofing contractor, Orpington
A one-page template site whose form had no phone field, rebuilt as twenty pages: nine areas, five services and structured data on every one.
Haigh Roofing
Roofing contractor, Halifax
Four service pages led by emergency roof repair, three routes to a quote feeding one inbox, and a call bar fixed to every mobile screen.
A1 Roofing Yorkshire
Roofing and damp proofing, Doncaster
A lean homepage with no icon, animation or carousel libraries, a Roofers Doncaster page carrying the markup, and a WhatsApp button with the quote request already typed.
What goes into a roofing site
Whichever size you need. Pages are added for the services and areas that warrant them, not to hit a number.
- Tap-to-call number in the header
- Call and quote bar fixed to the bottom on mobile
- Quote form that asks for the job and the postcode
- A page for each roofing service you offer
- Areas covered, as a section or as their own pages
- RoofingContractor structured data
- Gallery of your own job photos
- Your rating as text, linked to the reviews
- What to fix on your Business Profile
- Analytics that loads only after consent
Questions roofers ask
- Should customers be able to WhatsApp me as well as ring?
- Yes, if you will answer it. A homeowner can send a photo of the damage before you have even spoken. A1 Roofing's site has a WhatsApp button that opens with a quote request already typed and waits a second and a half before appearing, so it does not crowd the first screen. Haigh Roofing offers three routes, a form, a quote wizard and a chat-style widget, all landing in one inbox.
- Do I need a separate emergency roof repair page?
- If you take emergency call-outs, yes. “Emergency roofer” is its own search, made by someone in a hurry, and on Haigh Roofing's site the emergency page is the one the rest is built around. If you do not do call-outs, leave it out rather than borrowing the phrase.
- What photos should I send?
- Before and after pairs from real jobs, taken from the same spot: a finished flat roof, a rebuilt chimney, new fascias in good light. Phone photos are fine as long as they are sharp. A stock photo of a roofer on a ladder does nothing, because the roofer down the road can buy the same one.
- Most of my reviews are on Yell, not Google. Can I use them?
- Yes, quoted as written and labelled with where they came from. The thirteen reviews on Haigh Roofing's site are Yell reviews, and the site says so rather than passing them off as Google ones. Start asking for Google reviews as well, because those are the ones that feed the map pack.
- How much does a roofing website cost?
- £495 for a 1 to 5 page site, which suits a roofer with one patch and a handful of services. £850 for 5 to 15 pages, enough for a page per service. A site the size of Diamond Roofing's, around twenty pages with nine areas and five services, is quoted on enquiry. All of them are a one-time fee with no retainer.
