Website design for auto locksmiths and mobile auto trades

When you drive to the customer, every town you cover is a search someone makes: car key replacement Cowplain, lost car keys Denmead. We have built sites for two mobile auto locksmiths and a mobile auto electrician, and the largest has a page for each of 187 towns, every one written by hand.

From £495 for a one-page site. Town-by-town builds are quoted on enquiry.

What a mobile trade's website needs

Taken from three builds, two of them past two hundred pages.

A page for every town, written as that town

Sonny's Auto Keys went from two pages to 206. Templated town copy measured 72% similar from page to page, so every one of the 187 towns was written by hand with its real roads, stations and car parks, bringing the average down to 44%. Any page still on derived copy stays out of Google's index until it is finished.

Enquiries that say where they came from

Each of Auto Keys Pro's 182 town pages tags its enquiry with the town, so the owner can see whether work is coming from Waterlooville or from Sandhurst. Sonny's form asks for the postcode first, because that decides whether the job is worth the drive.

Credentials where a nervous customer looks

A driver is letting a stranger work on their car, at their own address. HM Mobile Auto Electrical puts its SERMI accreditation, IMI qualification and DBS check on the page, and its Companies House details in the markup as well as the footer.

The Business Profile fixed alongside

With no shop, the map pack runs on a service-area Business Profile. Auto Keys Pro's had its name in the wrong case, one category, a typo in the description and four counties missing from its service area. Six fixes shipped in the same week as the site.

What goes into a mobile trade's site

Whichever size you need. Town pages are added where they can be written properly, and only then.

Questions mobile trades ask

Do I really need a page for every town?
If it is a town you would drive to and people there search with its name, a page gives you something to rank. The risk is two hundred pages that say the same thing with the name swapped, which Google treats as doorway spam. Sonny's Auto Keys measured it: 72% similar as a template, 44% once every page was written properly. That writing is most of the job.
I have no shop. How do I show up on Google Maps?
With a Business Profile set up as a service-area business. Your address is used to verify you and is never shown. After that, reviews do most of the work: when Sonny's Auto Keys was rebuilt it had 25 reviews and the median business in the Rochdale map pack had 145, so the plan says reviews, not code, are the next lever.
What should the quote form ask for?
Whatever decides whether you take the job, and nothing else. For Sonny it is the postcode, so that comes first. For HM Mobile Auto Electrical it is the registration and the fault, so the form asks for both, with the registration box styled as a yellow number plate. The rest can wait for the phone call.
Can my reviews show as stars in Google's results?
Not from markup on your own site. Google does not show stars for a business's reviews of itself, so Auto Keys Pro's 5.0 from 36 reviews is shown on the page as text and kept out of the structured data on purpose. The stars people see in Maps come from your Business Profile.
How much does it cost?
£495 for a 1 to 5 page site, which is enough for a business sold on one page, as HM Mobile Auto Electrical is. £850 for 5 to 15 pages. A build with a page for every town, like Auto Keys Pro or Sonny's, is quoted on enquiry, because writing 180-odd towns properly is the bulk of the work. Every option is a one-time fee.
